Flex - Starting Part Way Through a Month
Some new staff may start working for the Authority part way through a month, e.g. starting work on the 16th of the month. Flex will, however, work out their time from the 1st of the month.
To correct the Flex totals so that a new employee starts with zero Flex totals on the day they start, please follow the instructions below.
You will need to add an "Other" adjustment for the days before you began using Flex, e.g. 1st to 15th of a month, otherwise the system will deduct the relevant time from you Flex. To do this take the following steps:
- Click on the Adjustment button for the first day of the month before you started using Flex, e.g. 1st.
- From the drop down list choose "Other Adjustment".
- In the "End Date" box, select the last day of the month before you started using Flex, e.g. 15th.
- In the "Period / Time / Days" box, select "Full Day" from the drop down list.
- In the "Description" box, enter "To balance Flex as was not using on this day" as the reason for the adjustment.
- Click "Add" and this will return you to your timesheet showing the amended days.
- Click "Save" to save the changes.
Please note that you may need to redo any relevant Month Ends to carry any changes in Flex totals forward.
